The local SNP are celebrating after gaining two local MSP's and a group of Inverclyde Councillors.
Greenock candidate Stuart McMillan is now an MSP for the West of Scotland region which includes Inverclyde and Dr Bill Wilson who stood for the Port Glasgow, Kilmacolm and Quariers area also got elected on the list.
In addition, FIVE Councillors were elected to serve at the Council.
Speaking as the results were being declared, Chris Osborne, new Councillor for Greenock Town Centre & West End, said:
'This is a great day for the SNP and an even better one for Scotland. At a national level we have seen the Labour Government removed from power and a replacement SNP administration which will put Scotland first.
'Locally, the people of Inverclyde now have five local Councillors and two MSP's who will fight Inverclyde's corner at a local and national level - We all look forward to serving the district during the next four years.
